Few modern film fans seem to know this Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston comedy has quite a pedigree as it’s based on the 1969 classic Cactus Flower with Sandler filling in for Walter Matthau and Aniston stepping into the shoes of Indgrid Bergman. Though the film has an undeniable Sandlerverse bent comedically, the story of a long-suffering dental assistant forced to be her Boss’ fake wife in Hawaii to help him land another woman has all the hallmarks of classic romantic comedy.
