Guernsey Episode: The setting is a tiny island in the British Channel. The entire island is covered with an immense amount of fortifications. This is the fate of one of the Channel Islands, surrendered by Churchill to the Nazis early into WWII. But what happened next defies logic; Hitler orders the creation of an island fortress, the likes of which no one has seen before, and forbids its surrender. Why would the Nazi’s pour so many resources into this strategically insignificant island, and hold onto it at all costs?
