Staged Season 2 Comes to Hollywood Suite Starting July 1

Michael Sheen and David Tennant Return for Another Season of Hilariously Navigating the Pandemic, This Time with Even Bigger Guest Stars

Toronto. June 23, 2021 — Hollywood Suite announced today it will follow-up the hit first season of the six-part BBC One comedy series Staged with the eight-part season 2, premiering July 20 at 9pm ET. All Season 2 episodes will be available on Hollywood Suite On Demand beginning July 1, joining Season 1, which is currently available to stream.

Season 2  follows the “real” Michael Sheen (The Queen) and David Tennant (Doctor Who) following the success of the first season of Staged. Simon Evans (portrayed by creator… Simon Evans) begins work on an American remake of the first series, but the stars are not asked to reprise their roles. Whoopi Goldberg joins the cast as Michael and David’s agent and Ben Schwartz as her assistant.

This eight-part, half-hour series was filmed entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic and features guest appearances by Simon Pegg, Christoph Waltz, Ewan McGregor, Ken Jeong, Jim Parsons, Josh Gad, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Cate Blanchett.

The first four episodes of Staged Season 2 will premiere July 20 starting at 9pm ET, with the last four episodes following on July 27 at 9pm ET.  Viewers can catch up on Season 1 now On Demand.
