In the pursuit of corruption, how far will they go to uncover the truth?
All new season 6
The smash hit UK crime drama is back for a sixth season!
Set a year and half after the events of the previous season, DI Kate Fleming, Superintendent Ted Hastings and DS Steve Arnott of police anti-corruption unit AC-12 investigate DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) on suspicion of mishandling an inquiry into the murder of investigative journalist Gail Vella.
Known to have links with corrupt police officers and suspected to be under direct command of the shadowy figure known only as ‘H’, John Corbett (Stephen Graham) and Lisa McQueen (Rochenda Sandall) become persons of interest to AC-12 following a deadly chain of events.
In the thick of a career-defining case, DCI Roz Huntley (Thandiwe Newton), is under intense pressure to prove herself to her superiors. But when she faces conflict with a colleague, it’s not long before AC-12 decide to probe her handling of the investigation.
Sergeant Danny Waldron (Daniel Mays) plays the highly proficient leader of an Armed Response Unit whose unpredictable behaviour is becoming a threat to colleagues and suspects. When AC-12 are called in to investigate Danny’s conduct, even they could find themselves in the firing line. The anti-corruption unit are up against their most dangerous adversary yet.
Following an explosive ambush of a police convoy, three police officers are killed and a protected witness seriously injured, leaving sole survivor, police officer DI Lindsay Denton (Keeley Hawes). Deputy Chief Constable Mike Dryden (Mark Bonnar) takes personal charge, assigning AC-12 to the case. DS Arnott, DS Fleming and Superintendent Hastings are joined by newly-appointed DC Georgia Trotman (Jessica Raine) to investigate a complex case rich in unexpected twists and turns. Initially AC-12’s most valuable witness, the suspicion soon arises that DI Denton could be their prime suspect.
Led by zealous Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), who is joined by Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Detective Constable Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), anti-corruption unit AC-12 is assigned to investigate popular, upstanding officer and family man Detective Chief Inspector Gates (Lennie James). Gates leads a department that routinely returns the best crime figures on the force – but Hastings is convinced the results are too good to be true…
