TORONTO – New Year, new cinematic adventures with Hollywood Suite, starting with sizzling selections from daring director Robert Altman. One of the most influential and risk-taking American directors of the late 20th century, Altman’s films take viewers to the field hospital during the Korean War in the five-time Academy Award-nominated comedy MASH (January 5); to Nashville (this isn’t Dallas, it’s Nashville!) with its ensemble of colorful and compelling characters set against the country/western music industry (January 5); and behind-the-scenes of the not so glamorous side of Hollywood in the provocative satire The Player (January 6), which features 65 (!) celebrity cameo appearances.

Fact or fiction? Hollywood Suite blurs the lines with back-to-back documentaries and feature films covering such iconic figures as gay rights activist and politician Harvey Milk (The Times of Harvey Milk and Milk on January 20); novelist Truman Capote (In Cold Blood and Capote on January 23); controversial playboy Hugh Hefner (Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel and The House Bunny on January 15), and more!

Though the holidays are over, Hollywood Suite will have you on your feet with movies that celebrate The King (January 8), including Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas and Kissin’ Cousins.

Plus, Hollywood Suite takes a bite out of global viral vampire sensation Carmilla with the world broadcast premiere of The Carmilla Movie January 3. The network kicks off the feeding frenzy with seasons 1–3 of the web series Carmilla, leading in to the movie premiere. The Carmilla Series and The Carmilla Movie are brought to you by U by Kotex.

January also delivers 35 exciting Hollywood Suite premieres, including:

  • HS00 Zoolander (Jan 13) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (Jan 26)
  • HS90A Life Less Ordinary (Jan 12) and The Red Violin (Jan 20)
  • HS80Popeye (Jan 6) and The Times of Harvey Milk (Jan 20)
